A new addition to the Nokia XpressMusic family, the Nokia 5220 is a stylish new phone that offers affordable music and entertainment experiences.
A stylish music phone, the Nokia 5220 has an easy to use user interface and comes with dedicated music keys that let you play and stop your music as you like. The phone also comes with support for FM radios and is compatible with the Nokia Music Store, where there are 2 million tracks to choose from. To provide you with as much as possible, the phone also allows storage of 2GB micro SD. Additional features include both built-in hands free and 3.5mm output jack so you can use your favorite headphone to enjoy your music. The only drawback is the average volume the phone presents, even indoors. Outdoors, you may have difficulty hearing the 64-chord ring tone.
For your entertainment purposes, the Nokia 5220 also has an MPEG4 player that allows viewing of quality videos on its 2-inch display (240 x 320 pixels). The phone has TFT 256k colors to provide quality pictures. The Nokia 5220 also comes equipped with a 2-megapixel camera which sadly, does not come with integrated flash.
If you want speedy Internet use, do not expect much from this phone though. As it is dedicated for music playing, the Nokia 5220 XpressMusic does not have support for 3G network. However, it does support GPRS and EDGE technology that are good enough for Internet use and to support music downloads. The phone provides an Opera mini browser to surf the Internet.
Other features of the phone include a Bluetooth service but no infrared, a 2000-entry phone book and the usual stuff, including calendar, notes and world clock. The battery life is quite good, with up to 24 hours of music playback.
